Well I'm a little late but this mission trip has been amazing! On Tuesday, we woke up and did the morning stuff like showers, teeth, hair. We had a little meeting real quick, then left straight away for the Salvation Army. When we got there we were greeted by Bruce, the captain of the branch we went to, and his family's amazing smiles. They divide us up and sent us on our ways. Our three groups either helped at Silvercrest, the “nursing home” right across the street from the Salvation Army branch, the food bank, or (in the case of Tessa and I) painted!!! We did our jobs and, from what I heard and experienced overall, everyone appreciated the help of willing volunteers even for a few hours. A little shout out to whoever is reading this blog if you ever get bored instead of putting in a dud you have wanted a thousand times, volunteer just to see the joy you bring others. I loved being able to chat with those at Silvercrest for a while and just seeing them all so happy. We are praying for all those working at Silvercrest and the Salvation Army: we thank you for all you do!!! I'm glad for our wonderful group I think we have grown closer to each other and to God, and that the renewed trust and faith in each other and the ability to have someone to talk to is so wonderful I don't even think they know how much they have helped me. Shout out to Allie and Brenton for being here and being awesome all the time no matter wheat happens. I'm glad I decided to come.
